Tour Description
From June to September each year, the annual Humpback Whale migration occurs along the coast of Queensland. These magnificent whales journey some 16,000 kilometres each year as they travel from the cool Antarctic waters to the warm waters of the tropics to give birth. Often travelling with newborn calves, the whales create an amazing spectacle, with their acrobatic breaches and tail slaps.
Your day starts with pick up from Brisbane, followed by a transfer to the ferry departure point for your 75-minute journey to Moreton Island. When you arrive, you'll enter Tangalooma Island Resort, your home for the day. On the island, you'll have access to the resort facilities including the swimming pools. During your day, visit the Marine Education centre to see the 'Discover the World of Dolphins' presentation, or enjoy one of the many island activities on offer. Up to 40 island activities are free, and others, including watersports, can be undertaken for an additional charge.
At midday, join your 3-hour Whale Watching Cruise to journey into the waters off Moreton Island. Your crew are experts at spotting whales, and your onboard Eco-Ranger will provide commentary to ensure that you learn as much as you can about the whales that pass-by this area. Your cruise includes a light lunch served on board, along with a complimentary whale watching photo (digital copy).
After your whale watching, spend a little more time at the resort, before joining your ferry back to the mainland, and transferring back to Brisbane.
